Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mateo Da Vinci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Putin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Putin gets a double leg takedown into Da Vinci's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Putin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Putin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Da Vinci knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Putin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Da Vinci keeps working.

Da Vinci sneaks out the side door and pushes Putin away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Da Vinci drives through with a takedown into Putin's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Putin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Putin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Da Vinci manages to get himself to full guard.

Putin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Da Vinci swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Da Vinci gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Da Vinci stuns Putin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Da Vinci is looking to clinch but Putin is avoiding it.

Da Vinci has closed the distance and engaged Putin in a clinch.
Putin tries for a takedown. No joy.
Putin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Da Vinci's efforts to push away.
We've been informed that Putin has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Da Vinci has had enough of the clinch but Putin keeps him there for the moment.

Putin tries to score a body lock takedown but Da Vinci shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Putin closes the distance and clinches.
Da Vinci is pressed up against the cage. Putin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Da Vinci down to the mat. Da Vinci avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Da Vinci will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Da Vinci connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Putin covering up! Da Vinci comes in with a big uppercut and Putin goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
