The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaoka steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ramirez.
Yamaoka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

enabling Yamaoka to counter with a crisp jab.

Yamaoka moves into range and clinches up with Ramirez.

Yamaoka has hold of one of Ramirez's legs. Ramirez is fighting the takedown attempt but Yamaoka gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Yamaoka wants to get up but he can't break Ramirez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Yamaoka must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ramirez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yamaoka's guard.

Ramirez throws an elbow that misses. Yamaoka uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ramirez's guard. Nice move by Yamaoka!

Yamaoka slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Yamaoka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ramirez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ramirez wants to sweep but no luck.
