Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rubin Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Townsend (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Townsend has chosen Emmure - Solar Flare Homicide as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rubin Stone has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Townsend!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Townsend closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stone quickly recovers to half guard.
Stone slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Stone is pulling down on Townsend's head to control his posture.
Townsend must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stone is on top in guard.

Stone engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Stone seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Townsend for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Townsend is trying to control the position but Stone postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Well, if Stone is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Stone working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Stone controlling the action here.
Townsend is trying to control but Stone passes into side control!
Stone will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stone stands up and beckons Townsend to his feet.

Townsend shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stone napping and manages to drive through into side control!
What's Stone going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Townsend tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Stone has one of Townsend's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

Townsend working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stone regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alex Townsend will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Stone is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Townsend can do to turn this around?

Townsend takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Stone with shots to the head and body - Townsend looks very uncomfortable down there.
Stone lands with some strikes.
Stone takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Stone raining down hammerfists from mount.
Townsend is in all sorts of trouble here.
Townsend really wants to buck Stone off and get back to his feet.

Stone lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Townsend hang on?

Rubin Stone dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Stone fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Townsend sprawls well initially but Stone persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Townsend is looking to get back to full guard here but Stone has managed to pass to side control instead.
Stone takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Townsend to pass into mount.
Stone controlling the position easily from mount.
More hug and hope from Stone.

Stone's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Townsend tries to lock up and control but Stone gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Townsend is trying desperately to improve position.
Stone controlling the pace for now.
Townsend keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Stone lands with some strikes.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Townsend is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Townsend working to try and regain half guard.
Stone controlling the pace for now.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Stone is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Stone raining down shots from the mount!

Rubin Stone showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Stone has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
