Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Niklas Brink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filip Wera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Niklas Brink!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Filip Wera!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Wera looks to score with a jab to the body but Brink is just out of range.

Wera closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Brink's guard.
Brink is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Wera throws a big right hand that misses.
Wera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brink. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wera throws an elbow that misses. Brink uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wera's guard. Nice move by Brink!

Brink is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wera is just riding it out for now. Brink eventually gives up the hold.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Wera takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Brink wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wera keeps working.

Brink tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brink has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Brink looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wera with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Wera is staying active underneath Brink, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Brink looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Brink has hold of Wera's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wera manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
