PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kid Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petr Vondrachek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is (Ugly kid joe) Everything about you. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kid Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Petr Vondrachek!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe wants to clinch

and Vondrachek decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Joe's guard.
Vondrachek working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

A quick step to the side and Joe tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Joe seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Vondrachek throws a nice outside leg kick.
Joe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Vondrachek scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

and Vondrachek finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Joe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Joe.
Vondrachek has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Vondrachek closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Joe did well to prevent Vondrachek getting side control.

Vondrachek tries to pass to full mount but Joe defends it.
Vondrachek thows a huge punch but Joe dodges it nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Poor strikes thrown by Vondrachek there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Vondrachek wants to control the pace but Joe is squirming around nicely.
