The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera shoots in for a takedown but Dawson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dawson connects with a looping right hand.

It looks like Margarito Rivera has been cut.
Dawson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dawson doesn't manage to clinch there - Rivera circles away.
Dawson misses with a combination
letting Rivera counter with a right hand.
Rivera keeps the fight on the outside.
Rivera on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dawson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Rivera blocks a head kick by Dawson.
Rivera stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Dawson.

Dawson darts in and clinches Rivera up against the cage.
Dawson is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Dawson breaks from the clinch.

Dawson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dawson moves in looking to clinch but Rivera pushes him off.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dawson.
Rivera throws a lazy right hand but Dawson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dawson tries a head kick but it misses.
Dawson connects with a solid leg kick.
Dawson misses with a series of wild punches.
Rivera quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Dawson checks the leg kick nicely there.
Rivera tries to land a front kick but Dawson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rivera dodges the punch combination from Dawson.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Dawson does no damage.
Rivera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dawson misses with a two punch combination.
Dawson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rivera.
Rivera half committed to a counter leg kick.
Dawson throws a head kick that Rivera semi-blocks.

Rivera is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Dawson has cracked Rivera with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Dawson lands another huge swinging hook and Rivera tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Rivera, before Dawson can land any more shots!
