Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shannon Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bo Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shannon Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bo Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sherk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Page's guard.
Page keeping moving, preventing Sherk from controlling successfully.
Page manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sherk manages to get himself to full guard.

Page trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sherk's guard.

Sherk looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Page trying to control but Sherk is working from the bottom.

Sherk is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Page defends well.
Sherk trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Page trying to control the position from guard on top but Sherk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Page has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sherk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Page could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Sherk is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Page postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Page trying to control the position from guard on top but Sherk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Page postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sherk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Page postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Page wants to control from the top but Sherk keeps moving.
Page trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Page drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Page jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sherk avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Page fails with a takedown attempt.

Page moves into the clinch successfully.

Sherk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Page gets caught napping as Sherk dives in and scores a takedown. Page manages to retain guard.
Page looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sherk trying to control but Page is working from the bottom.

Sherk wants to control from the top but Page keeps moving.
Page wants to sweep here but Sherk controlling him for the moment.
Sherk not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Page wants to sweep but no luck.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sherk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Page takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Sherk trying to control the action but Page is working from the bottom.
Page takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Sherk lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Page manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sherk's best efforts.
Page has hold of Sherk's hands but Sherk slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Page is refusing to be controlled, as Sherk sits in half guard.
Sherk wants to stand up but Page is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bo Sherk dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Sherk drives through with a takedown into Page's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Sherk connects with a couple of short punches.
Sherk postures up and lands a big shot to Page's brow.
Sherk seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sherk throwing strikes but missing.

Sherk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Page swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sherk looking to sit in guard and control but Page gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sherk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Page doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Page manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Page throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Page sitting in guard here, content to control.
Page stops Sherk from standing up.
Bo Sherk has got the better of the ground game so far.
Page looking to sit in guard and control but Sherk gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Page has his foot on Sherk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sherk works his way back into a safe position though.
Sherk cracks Page with a solid left hand.
Page can't keep his opponent in guard - Sherk advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Sherk slips a nice elbow through Page's hands, connecting with Page's forehead.
Sherk is nestled in close to Page, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Page is looking to improve his position.
Sherk is keen to just control but Page is a slippery customer.
Page taking some punishment here, with Sherk in his half guard.
Sherk prevents Page from standing back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sherk trying to control the pace.
Sherk looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Page with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


Page is rocked!
Sherk is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Page is hurt! He's hurt bad - Sherk fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Page from any more punishment! Congratulations to Sherk! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bo Sherk!
Bo Sherk decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
