Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jax Marciano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Salas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jax Marciano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xavier Salas!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marciano looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Salas wants to counter the offense by Marciano and move into the clinch position.
Marciano dives in for a single leg takedown but Salas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Salas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Salas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marciano is on top in guard.

Salas has his hands on Marciano's head, controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marciano wants to control from the top but Salas keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salas trying to keep a closed guard but Marciano is proving a slippery customer.

Marciano tries to free his leg and advance position but Salas is retaining full guard.
Marciano throws a big right hand that misses.

Salas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marciano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marciano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Marciano not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Salas wants to sweep but no luck.
Marciano tries to free his leg and advance position but Salas is retaining full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Marciano has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Marciano wants to control from the top but Salas keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Salas tries a head kick but it misses.
Marciano goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Salas moves into the clinch.
Salas wants to take the fight to the mat but Marciano manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Salas gets underhooks to prevent Marciano's takedown attempt.

Salas jumps into guard, dragging Marciano to the mat.
Marciano wants to control from the top but Salas keeps moving.

Salas gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Marciano goes for a takedown in the clinch but Salas prevents it.

Salas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Salas tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Marciano defends well and Salas ends up having to push Marciano into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Salas moves to clinch but Marciano breaks away
and Marciano counters with an inside leg kick.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marciano has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marciano shoots in for a double leg but Salas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Salas is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Marciano closes this distance looking for a takedown but Salas circles away.
Marciano scores with a hook to the body. Salas takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Nice takedown defense from Marciano. No joy for Salas on that attempt.

As Salas backs away, Marciano returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Salas throws a fast counter high kick but Marciano manages to duck under it in time.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Marciano.

Marciano stuffs the takedown attempt from Salas. Salas gets slowly back to his feet.
Marciano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Salas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Salas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Marciano throws a quick inside leg kick.
Marciano tries to clinch up but Salas circles away and keeps his distance.

Marciano moves into the clinch.
Marciano works on Salas's body with a couple of short punches.
Marciano wants a takedown.

Marciano manages to break the clinch.
Salas tried to score with a low kick but Marciano checks it.

Marciano lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Marciano pushes Salas up against the cage in a clinch.
Salas is looking to control Marciano's arms but Marciano gets an underhook and turns him. Now Salas has his back to the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Salas looks for the body kick but Marciano saw that one coming.
Salas fails to land with a series of punches.

Marciano rushes Salas and presses him up against the cage.

Marciano breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Marciano is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Salas is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Marciano with a body shot.
Salas throws a one two combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salas tries for a takedown but Marciano sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Marciano throws a right hand that Salas ducks under and follows up with a left that Salas also avoids with ease.
Salas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Marciano shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salas pinned against the cage. Salas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Marciano darts in looking for a takedown but Salas gets double underhooks and turns Marciano into the cage.

Salas clinches.

Marciano breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Marciano shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salas pinned against the cage. Salas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jax Marciano. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Salas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Marciano quickly recovers to half guard.
Salas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Marciano could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Marciano is trying to control but can't.

Salas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marciano defends it well.
Marciano slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Salas wants to stand but Marciano is controlling his posture from full guard.
Salas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Salas works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Salas is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Salas moves into full mount! Marciano won't be happy about that!

Xavier Salas has got the better of the ground game so far.
Let's hope that Salas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Marciano tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Xavier Salas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Salas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
