Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vito Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Split Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vito Corleone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Split Rush!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush fails with the takedown.
Corleone swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Horrible takedown attempt by Rush or perhaps it was just good defense by Corleone, which made it look bad.
An attempted straight right counter from Corleone misses the target.
Rush shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Corleone pinned against the cage. Corleone gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vito Corleone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Split Rush.
Rush lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rush drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Rush fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rush misses with a takedown attempt - Corleone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Split Rush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rush shoots and misses
and Corleone counters with a straight right hand.
Rush looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rush will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Corleone stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Corleone wants it to stay on the feet.
Rush shoots in looking for a takedown. Corleone tries to sprawl out of it but Rush keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Corleone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Corleone swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Rush darts in looking for a takedown but Corleone gets double underhooks and turns Rush into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rush.
Corleone throws a shot from downtown. Rush moves away and avoids it.

Corleone gets caught napping as Rush dives in and scores a takedown. Corleone manages to retain guard.

Corleone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rush defends well.

Corleone has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rush should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Corleone has tightened it up now! Rush should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Vito Corleone!
In his post fight interview, Vito Corleone started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
