Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zell Dincht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi comes to the ring accompanied by Slaap lekker!. Dincht is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fanfare. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zell Dincht!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dincht scores with a hook.

Gomi closes the distance and clinches.

Dincht pulls guard effortlessly.
Gomi controls from within his opponent's guard.
Dincht bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gomi's guard.

Dincht scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Our spies down at at Clube dos Canalhas inform us that Dincht has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Dincht throws the left hand but Gomi avoids the punch easily.
Dincht throws a shot from downtown. Gomi moves away and avoids it.

Gomi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gomi appears to be looking for a big counter.
Dincht finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Nice uppercut lands for Dincht. That snapped Gomi's head back.
Dincht scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gomi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dincht.
Gomi changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dincht accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Gomi goes for a double leg but Dincht avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Dincht continues to drive forward.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gomi seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Gomi has his foot on Dincht's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dincht works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dincht passes Gomi's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Dincht lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Zell Dincht showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dincht throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gomi on the side of the head.

Dincht looks to score with a jab to the body but Gomi is just out of range.
Good leg kick by Dincht there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Dincht bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zell Dincht comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
