Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Michael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Michael!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman moves into range and clinches up with Michael.
Roman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Michael gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Roman tightens his grip and picks Michael up, before dumping him to the ground. Michael manages to land in guard.
Michael is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Michael bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Roman's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Michael wants to pass the guard but Roman is keeping the position.
Roman could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Michael slips nicely into half guard.
Roman misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Michael is thwarting Roman's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Michael is looking for a kimura but Roman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Michael to get the leverage.
Michael passes to full mount!

Roman is wriggling around trying to escape.
Roman tries to hold on but Michael postures up.
Michael forces the positional change into back control.
Roman holding both Michael 's hands and preventing any damage.
Roman breaks Michael's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Roman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Roman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Roman is in close to Michael's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Michael tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Michael is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Roman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Michael wants to sweep but no luck.
Michael avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Roman wants to control from the top but Michael keeps moving.

Michael escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Michael is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Michael has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Roman wants to control from the top but Michael keeps moving.
Roman with a flurry of punches that miss.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackson Michael dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Roman gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Michael tries to pull guard but Roman won't allow it.
Roman wants a takedown but no success here.
Roman scores with a knee to the head.
Roman connects with a nasty looking knee right to Michael's face.
Roman goes for a takedown attempt but Michael pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Michael shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Michael working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Roman looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Michael! Submission of the night perhaps?
