Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anderson Machida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergei Simenkov!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Machida throws a hook but Simenkov avoids it easily.
Simenkov is looking to land body kicks.
Simenkov tries for a takedown but Machida sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Machida misses the target.
Machida gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Simenkov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Machida's head.
Simenkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machida swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Simenkov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Simenkov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simenkov works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Simenkov is looking to advance position but Machida won't allow it.

Machida looks like he's trying to stand up.

A big strike lands for Simenkov! That's really hurt Machida and he's turned his back - Simenkov keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Simenkov jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

After winning the bout, Sergei Simenkov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
