Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ole Solseng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eirik Rivfader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Solseng comes into the arena with Iron Horse - Hero of the Day blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Eirik Rivfader!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivfader shoots in looking for a takedown but Solseng manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rivfader's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Solseng lands a head kick. Rivfader smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Rivfader is looking to clinch.
Rivfader has his takedown stuffed
and Solseng counters with a left to the body.
Rivfader on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Solseng. Solseng obviously looking to wear him down.

Rivfader fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Solseng sprawls well initially but Rivfader persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rivfader is nestled in close to Solseng, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Solseng tries to get to full guard but Rivfader has control of the leg.

Rivfader wants to control from the top but Solseng keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Rivfader feints and as Solseng raises his hands in defense, Rivfader changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Solseng wants to improve his position but instead Rivfader has moved into half guard.
Solseng is looking to control Rivfader's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Solseng avoid being mounted?
Solseng is pressing down on Rivfader's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Solseng looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rivfader is one step ahead there.
Rivfader stays in close to Solseng's body and controls the position.

Rivfader seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Solseng has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rivfader postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Solseng tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rivfader is able to avoid easily.

Rivfader darts in and clinches Solseng up against the cage.

Solseng's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Solseng pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Solseng dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rivfader. That did some damage!
Solseng uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rivfader has time to react.
Rivfader dives in and grabs Solseng's left leg, looking for a takedown. Solseng pushes down on Rivfader's head and hops out.
Ole Solseng has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eirik Rivfader.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A thudding body kick lands there by Solseng!
Solseng throws a good cross that connects.
Solseng leaves Rivfader with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That was a close round but I would say that Ole Solseng will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Rivfader has managed to clinch.
Solseng tries to work over Rivfader's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Solseng escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Solseng will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Solseng feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rivfaders jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Rivfader unleashes a big counter combination but Solseng bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Solseng looks to score with a jab to the body but Rivfader is just out of range.
Rivfader is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Ole Solseng seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rivfader checks a leg kick nicely.
Rivfader walks into a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivfader will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Solseng throws out a leg kick but Rivfader moves out of range and Solseng only half commits.

Solseng gets caught napping as Rivfader dives in and scores a takedown. Solseng manages to retain guard.
Solseng is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rivfader can do to turn this around?
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Solseng is on top in guard.

Rivfader has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Solseng has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Rivfader tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Solseng smiles and moves away.
Solseng is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Rivfader throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Solseng is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Solseng connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rivfader's hands.
Solseng lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Rivfader's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Solseng throws a low kick but it's checked well by Rivfader.

Ole Solseng is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rivfader shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Solseng as he avoids it easily.
Rivfader changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Solseng tries to avoid it but Rivfader manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Solseng to the ground. Solseng escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rivfader blocks a head kick by Solseng.
Rivfader tries to close the distance and clinch up but Solseng swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rivfader moves out of range of the body kick.
Solseng misses with a looping left.
As Solseng backs off Rivfader throws a huge counter combo but Solseng manages to avoid it all.
Solseng connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Solseng turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Solseng fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rivfader.

Some bone on bone action there as Rivfader checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Rivfader doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rivfader takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rivfader tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Solseng defends well and Rivfader ends up having to push Solseng into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Solseng is looking to counter with a body kick.
Solseng tests Rivfader's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That kick from Solseng tenderised Rivfader's leg. Rivfader is trying to keep his angry face on.

Rivfader postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Solseng to stand up.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Solseng lands a big head kick that sends Rivfader tumbling to the mat! Solseng takes a step backwards and waves Rivfader back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Eirik Rivfader has been cut.
Rivfader moves in looking to clinch but Solseng pushes him off.
Rivfader takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Solseng lands a head kick. Rivfader smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
The fighters circle, before Solseng throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Rivfader's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Solseng lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
