Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Ruffarino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Mohammed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jamal Mohammed is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rufus Ruffarino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamal Mohammed!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruffarino throws a sloppy head kick and Mohammed moves out of range easily.
Good shot there by Mohammed.

Mohammed tries to sprawl but Ruffarino drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Mohammed looking for submissions off his back.
Mohammed is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ruffarino controlling the action here.
Ruffarino tries to pass to full mount but Mohammed defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mohammed is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ruffarino pulls his head out easily.

Ruffarino slows the pace down in half guard.

Ruffarino seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mohammed looks winded!

Ruffarino decides to return to a standing position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ruffarino is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ruffarino drives through with a takedown into Mohammed's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Ruffarino postures up and lands a big shot to Mohammed's brow.
Ruffarino pushes down on Mohammed's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Still in half guard, Ruffarino seems content to control.

Mohammed looking for a kimura from the bottom but Ruffarino passes into side control!

Ruffarino working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ruffarino is putting a hurting on Mohammed here, landing some big shots from side control.

Ruffarino tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ruffarino has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ruffarino is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mohammed is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mohammed tries to improve position but can't.
Ruffarino advances nicely into full mount.
Mohammed is bucking up trying to escape but Ruffarino cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Mohammed sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Ruffarino wants to free his trapped foot but Mohammed is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mohammed on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rufus Ruffarino dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ruffarino feints and as Mohammed raises his hands in defense, Ruffarino changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mohammed is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ruffarino rolls with it to try and escape but Mohammed cranks on the arm and Ruffarino is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jamal Mohammed!
Jamal Mohammed tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
