Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeffson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Dority (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cliff Richard - Summer Holiday. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dority tries to clinch up.
Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dority has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Gracie is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Dority misses with a two punch combination.
Gracie has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Dority throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gracie is looking to counter punch.
Dority connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gracie momentarily.
Gracie is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dority.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dority is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Dority circles away and we're back to standing.
Gracie dives in and grabs Dority's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dority pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out.
Dority fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.

Dority throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
Dan Dority seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dority uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gracie.
Dority throws out a loose jab but Gracie uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gracie was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Dority lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
Dority fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Dority is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

It looks like Dan Dority has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dority tries to stand but Gracie is controlling from the bottom.
Dority wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position.

Dority stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Dority dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Dority wants to clinch.
Dority misses with a body punch
and Gracie counters with a nice uppercut.
Dority scores with a jab to the jaw.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch but Dority swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gracie throws a poor cross that misses
and Dority cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dority dodges the punch combination from Gracie.
Dority throws out a counter right but Gracie avoids it with no problem.

Gracie darts in looking for a takedown but Dority gets double underhooks and turns Gracie into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeffson Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dority displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.
Dority lands a jab to the head.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dority but Dority pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Gracie has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Gracie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dority as he jumps to the side.
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dority.
Gracie takes a shot right to the bread basket.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dority throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gracie on the side of the head.

Dority swings widly with a right hand
and Gracie counters with a stiff right hand.
Gracie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It looked like Gracie wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A telegraphed right hand from Dority misses the target.
Dority throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it.
Dority throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Gracie to counter with a crisp jab.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dority is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Dority circles away and we're back to standing.

Gracie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dority on his heels. He'll look to pass Dority's guard now, I'm sure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
