PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Howlingate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Big Bob told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Henry Howlingate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Big Bob!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob lands a nice shot that snaps Howlingate's head back.
Bob throws a looping overhand right but Howlingate ducks down to avoid it.
Bob misses with a combination
and Howlingate cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Howlingate has closed the distance and engaged Bob in a clinch.
Howlingate avoiding damage.
A short left from Howlingate.
Howlingate digs a right hand into Bob's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bob's gas tank.
Bob drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Howlingate lands with a left to the head.
Howlingate pushes Bob back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Howlingate's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Bob is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Howlingate pulls him back up using the underhooks.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bob throws a punch but it's blocked by Howlingate.
Bob fails to pull guard.
Henry Howlingate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Bob.
Howlingate lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bob backwards.
Howlingate gets underhooks to prevent Bob's takedown attempt.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Howlingate.
Bob jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Howlingate walks away with a smile on his face. Bob gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bob gets tackled into the cage by Howlingate. Howlingate maintains the clinch.
Howlingate lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Howlingate will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bob up against the cage.
Howlingate lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bob backwards.

Bob is rocked!
Howlingate has a couple of punches blocked by Bob.
Howlingate lands with a left to the head.
Bob is still on wobbly legs! Can Howlingate finish him?
A head punch on the inside from Howlingate fails to land.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bob wants to take the fight to the mat but Howlingate manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Howlingate taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Bob tries to pull guard but Howlingate forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Howlingate tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Bob seems to have recovered his senses.
Howlingate lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Howlingate pushes Bob against the cage. Howlingate is working some dirty boxing. Howlingate pushes off with a quick right hook! Bob goes down! Bob tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Howlingate moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henry Howlingate!
Post fight, Henry Howlingate stared into the camera and said 'Oh yea bitches'.
