Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Mcfarland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Kherzakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lamont Mcfarland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitri Kherzakov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kherzakov drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kherzakov is looking to stand up but Mcfarland won't let him.
Kherzakov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kherzakov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kherzakov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kherzakov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Mcfarland is trying to stand back up but Kherzakov is controlling him
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kherzakov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kherzakov is thwarting Mcfarland's attempts to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kherzakov tries to throw a body punch but Mcfarland avoids it by throwing Kherzakov back against the cage.

Kherzakov drives through with a takedown into Mcfarland's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Kherzakov drops back looking for a leg! Mcfarland is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mcfarland manages to kick Kherzakov off! Kherzakov jumps back into Mcfarland's guard.
Mcfarland wants to stand up but Kherzakov is controlling him.

Kherzakov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kherzakov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kherzakov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kherzakov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mcfarland.
Mcfarland shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kherzakov defends it nicely.
Mcfarland shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kherzakov as he jumps to the side.

Kherzakov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mcfarland quickly recovers to half guard.

Kherzakov wants to break free but Mcfarland has control.

Kherzakov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kherzakov wants to stand and escape but Mcfarland is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mcfarland shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kherzakov but Kherzakov pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mcfarland wants to hold on but Kherzakov pushes him away.

Kherzakov jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mcfarland is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mcfarland and Kherzakov has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Kherzakov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mcfarland sprawls well initially but Kherzakov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kherzakov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mcfarland's head.
Kherzakov stops Mcfarland from getting back to his feet.

Kherzakov decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Mcfarland looks for a takedown but Kherzakov sprawls well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kherzakov is trying to trip Mcfarland. He has hold of a leg but Mcfarland is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kherzakov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Well Kherzakov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
