The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
English shoots for a takedown but Hopper saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hopper misses with a two punch combination.
Hopper tests English's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Luke English has been cut.

Hopper gets caught flat footed, as English shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hopper trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Hopper will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hopper is trying to control the position but English postures up.
Hopper looking to hit a scissor sweep but English is one step ahead there.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hopper manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
