PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clint Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hate Sin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clint Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hate Sin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sin rushes Duncan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sin looking for a takedown.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Sin has Duncan pressed against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Sin.


It looks like Clint Duncan has been cut.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Sin.
Duncan leaning against his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duncan trying to control the position but instead, Sin has worked for underhooks and has pushed Duncan into the cage.
Duncan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sin jumps guard but Duncan stands there with Sin around his waist. Sin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Clint Duncan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hate Sin.
Sin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Duncan walks away with a smile on his face. Sin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Sin has closed the distance and engaged Duncan in a clinch.
Duncan stalling in the clinch.
Sin lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Duncan is trying to push Sin away but Sin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sin tries to score a body lock takedown but Duncan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A knee to the head by Sin.


Clint Duncan's cut is getting worse.

Sin pulls Duncan into guard.

Sin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Duncan passes into side control.
Sin tries to buck Duncan off but Duncan is having none of it.

Duncan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Duncan misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Duncan trying to control the position but Sin is working away.
Sin tries to bench press Duncan off him but Duncan keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sin throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Sin is trying to control Duncan's posture but Duncan avoids it.
Sin is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Duncan is staying active.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Duncan throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Duncan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sin throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Sin throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Duncan to counter with a crisp jab.

Sin gets caught napping as Duncan dives in and scores a takedown. Sin manages to retain guard.

Sin has his foot on Duncan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duncan works his way back into a safe position though.
Sin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Duncan is one step ahead there.

Sin has a closed guard, preventing Duncan from standing up.
Sin wants to sweep here but Duncan controlling him for the moment.
Sin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sin has Duncan pulled in close to control his posture.
Duncan throwing strikes but missing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Clint Duncan will probably get the nod.

That's time! Duncan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Sin clinches up against the cage.
Duncan trying to stall but Sin improves his position.
Sin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Duncan fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sin pushes Duncan up against the cage in a clinch.
Sin digs a right hand underneath Duncan's ribcage. Duncan let out a lung full of air as it connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sin takes the fight into the clinch.
Duncan is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Duncan is looking to control Sin's arms but Sin gets an underhook and turns him. Now Duncan has his back to the cage.
Sin fails to pull guard.
Duncan is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Duncan just leaning against Sin, taking a breather.
Duncan looking to stall.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Clint Duncan.

Sin gets a clinch.
Duncan leaning his opponent against the cage.
Sin goes for a takedown attempt but Duncan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Clint Duncan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hate Sin.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sin rushes Duncan and presses him up against the cage.

Sin is trying to drag Duncan to the mat but Duncan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Duncan tries to stall but Sin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Sin decides to pull guard.
Duncan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Duncan wants to stand but Sin is controlling his posture from full guard.
Sin keeping moving, preventing Duncan from controlling successfully.
Duncan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Duncan keeping moving, preventing Sin from controlling successfully.
Sin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hate Sin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Duncan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Sin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sin tries to pull guard but Duncan holds him up against the cage and eventually Sin drops back down to his feet.

Sin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sin tries to stall but Duncan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Sin gets control of Duncan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Duncan wants to control from the top but Sin keeps moving.
Sin seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Sin is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Duncan stalls.
Duncan taking a breather.
Sin wants to stall.
Hate Sin seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
The referee calls for Duncan to work.

Duncan prevents the takedown attempt.
Sin jumps guard but Duncan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Come on Duncan - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Clint Duncan.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sin.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sin enables Duncan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Duncan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Duncan stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Sin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sin wants it to stay on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sin is defended easily by Duncan.
Sin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Duncan with a lazy takedown attempt
and Sin counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The referee calls for Sin to work.
Sin avoiding damage as Duncan throws knees to the body.
Duncan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Duncan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Sin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Duncan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Sin as Duncan tries to tie him up.
Sin wants to take the fight to the mat but Duncan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Duncan content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Sin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Duncan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Duncan stalls.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sin breaks the clinch.
Sin lands a leg kick that knocks Duncan off balance momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Clint Duncan.
I think Duncan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
