The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Cartwright with that takedown attempt.
Cartwright tries to clinch
letting Shota counter with a right hand.
Shota stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shota wants it to stay on the feet.
Shota throws a leg kick
and Cartwright counters with a stiff right hand.
Cartwright gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Shota thumps Cartwright with a low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cartwright takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Cartwright pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Shota walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Cartwright checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Shota displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cartwright.
Shota is looking to counter punch.
Adrian Shota has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ceoghan Cartwright.

Shota takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Cartwright connects with a looping right hand.
Cartwright checks the leg kick nicely there.
Shota bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Cartwright shoots in looking for a takedown. Shota tries to sprawl out of it but Cartwright keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shota manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cartwright is defended easily by Shota.
Shota uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cartwright.
Shota is looking to counter punch.
Shota misses with a straight right.
Cartwright moves in looking to clinch but Shota pushes him off.
Cartwright blocks a jab.
Cartwright with the counter takedown but Shota avoids it easily.
Shota is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cartwright.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cartwright misses with a wild body shot.
It looked like Shota wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Cartwright tries for a takedown but Shota circles away easily
and Shota counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Shota jabs Cartwright right on the nose. Cartwright blinks but takes it well.
Cartwright on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Cartwright is rocked!
Shota motions for Cartwright to come forward. Shota throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Shota misses with a looping left.
Cartwright changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Shota lands a big uppercut and Cartwright crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Cartwright looks OK. Shota waves Cartwright back to his feet!
Cartwright is still on wobbly legs! Can Shota finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shota lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Cartwright - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Shota!
