The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edward tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Perkins defends well and Edward ends up having to push Perkins into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Perkins avoids a strike by Edward and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Edward's guard! Fantastic escape!
Edward manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Perkins manages to get himself to full guard.

Perkins is looking to stand up but Edward isn't so interested in that idea.
