Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jamie Torrens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Shelby!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torrens rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Shelby counters with a left and a right that stings Torrens.
Shelby has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Torrens is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Shelby drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Torrens connects with a body shot.
Torrens throws a poor cross that misses
and Shelby counters with a three punch combo that has Torrens backing up. Torrens nods at Shelby to acknowledge the strikes.
Torrens is rocked!
Torrens stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shelby.
Oh Torrens is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shelby lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Shelby goes for a small jab and connects. Now Shelby goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Torrens stumbles back but Shelby runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Torrens to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Torrens will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tommy Shelby!
