The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashkram misses with a wild body shot.
Ashkram dives in and grabs Hammer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hammer pushes down on Ashkram's head and hops out.
Ashkram is looking to score with low kicks.
Hammer wants to counter the offense by Ashkram and move into the clinch position.
Ashkram throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hammer tries to counter by closing the distance.
Hammer moves in looking to clinch but Ashkram pushes him off.
Ashkram appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Ashkram shoots in looking for a takedown. Hammer tries to sprawl out of it but Ashkram keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hammer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ashkram shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ashkram seems to be working for a kimura but Hammer defends the submission attempt.
