Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Popo Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
Jones jabs Hicks right on the nose. Hicks blinks but takes it well.
Jones darts in looking for a takedown but Hicks gets double underhooks and turns Jones into the cage.
Jones scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Hicks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Hicks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hicks pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jones is out of range and Hicks settles back down.
Jones has a takedown stuffed.
Hicks steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Jones.
Popo Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hicks rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hicks is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Jones throws a series of punches but Hicks avoids them all with ease.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hicks takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Jones stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones has Hicks up against the cage in a clinch.
Hicks has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jones catches Hicks with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Hicks has Jones pulled in close to control his posture.
Jones wants to stand but Hicks has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hicks holds on and takes a little breather.

Hicks wants to sweep but no luck.
Hicks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hicks is on top in guard.
Hicks works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones pushes Hicks off but Hicks dives into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones is letting Hicks control him for a moment.
Jones tries to bench press Hicks off him but Hicks keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Popo Jones will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones looks to land a combination but Hicks avoids it well.
Hicks unleashes a big counter combination but Jones bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Jones!
A head kick misses from Jones.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Hicks, which made it look bad.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hicks swivels and escapes.
Hicks leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Popo Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones lunges at Hicks with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hicks's hand.
Hicks shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hicks showed some decent athleticism there.
Hicks looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Hicks is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jones!
