Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Socrates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Socrates has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Socrates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Ho!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Socrates gets caught napping as Ho dives in and scores a takedown. Socrates manages to retain guard.
Ho trying to control the position from guard on top but Socrates is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Socrates wants to stand but Ho is controlling the position.
Ho works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Socrates looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Socrates trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Ho uses his free foot to push down on Socrates's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Socrates.

Socrates on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Socrates tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ho looking to control but Socrates is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Socrates knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ho on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chris Ho dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Socrates takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ho takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Ho misses with a takedown attempt - Socrates sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Daniel Socrates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ho rushes Socrates and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Socrates breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ho uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Socrates.
Ho goes for a double leg but Socrates avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Socrates continues to drive forward.

Ho uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Socrates.

Ho throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ho throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Socrates was covering up waiting for the punch and Ho finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ho is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Socrates is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ho is controlling him.
Ho has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ho is in close to Socrates's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Ho takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Socrates throws a jab but it's blocked by Ho.

Socrates is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Ho shoots in looking for a takedown but Socrates manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ho's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ho dives in for a single leg takedown but Socrates sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Socrates cracks Ho with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Socrates is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ho.

Ho drives through with a takedown into Socrates's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Ho slips a nice elbow through Socrates's hands, connecting with Socrates's forehead.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Socrates throws a looping overhand right but Ho ducks down to avoid it.

Socrates catches Ho with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ho misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Daniel Socrates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Ho.

Chris Ho is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Socrates throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ho on the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Chris Ho.
I think Ho has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
