Jackson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Biggie Smalls - Who shot ya'?. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zal swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jackson is looking for a counter combo.
Zal drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Zal tries to score with some ground and pound. Jackson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Zal drags him back down.
Zal tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Jackson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Zal asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Zal fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jackson throws a big counter combination but Zal scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Jackson gets caught flat footed, as Zal shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jackson wants to stand up but Zal is controlling him.

Jackson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Jackson manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Zal knocks out Jackson with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Zal before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Zal picks up the big W with a huge KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nick Zal!
In defeat, Reece Jackson stepped up to the mic, saying 'Y'know, it's a shame I lost today. I worked my ass of leading up to this fight and my opponent was able to out-wit me this time. Believe me, I'll be back in that gym training harder than ever and I'll be back. Believe that.'.
