The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stamatis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tarnowski's waist but Tarnowski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stamatis off to one side.
Stamatis tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Tarnowski feints and then cracks Stamatis's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stamatis down.

Tarnowski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stamatis throws out the jab.

Stamatis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Athan Stamatis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stamatis thows a leg kick but Tarnowski checks it
and Tarnowski counters with a takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stamatis is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Tarnowski has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Stamatis is looking to defend but Tarnowski has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Stamatis! Tarnowski pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Stamatis taps out and this one is all over!
