Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stone Cold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Taslim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taslim is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: La Coka Nostra - "Mind Your Business". John Taslim is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stone Cold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Taslim!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taslim moves into range and clinches up with Cold.
Cold goes for a takedown attempt but Taslim pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Taslim lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Stone Cold has been cut.
The fighters circle momentarily. Taslim darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Taslim throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Cold throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Taslim was covering up waiting for the punch and Cold finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cold seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Taslim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cold tries to free his leg and advance position but Taslim is retaining full guard.

Cold looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Taslim is working an open guard so Cold takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cold.
Taslim stuffs the takedown attempt from Cold. Cold gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stone Cold. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cold bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Taslim's head backwards.
Cold closes the distance and clinches up with Taslim, looking for a takedown. Cold pushes Taslim against the cage but Taslim circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Taslim throws a fast counter high kick but Cold manages to duck under it in time.
Taslim keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cold shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Taslim defends it nicely.
Cold throws a right hand that misses
and Taslim cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stone Cold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cold shoots in looking for a takedown. Taslim tries to sprawl out of it but Cold keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taslim manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Taslim looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cold moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Cold seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Taslim told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Cold on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cold tries to get out of the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cold pushes a forearm under Taslim's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Taslim is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Stone Cold!
Post fight, Stone Cold took to the microphone: 'Where's the beer?'.
