Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Fulben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fulben has chosen Om du vill bli min fru as his entrance music. Benny Fulben will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roberto Hooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Benny Fulben!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooper swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Benny Fulben seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hooper keeps the fight on the outside.
Hooper circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hooper tries to sprawl but Fulben drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hooper throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Fulben is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Fulben prevents Hooper from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fulben is keen to just control but Hooper is a slippery customer.

Hooper throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Fulben really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hooper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hooper looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Fulben wants to pass to mount but Hooper is defending the position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hooper tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Hooper is looking to control Fulben's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hooper avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Fulben looks to land a combination but Hooper avoids it well.
It looked like Hooper was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Fulben drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hooper regains half guard.

Fulben wants to take a breather but Hooper is having none of it.
Fulben looks to land a strike but Hooper avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Hooper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fulben doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fulben manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hooper looking for a guillotine here but Fulben defends easily.
Hooper keeping moving, preventing Fulben from controlling successfully.
Hooper will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fulben is looking to stand up but Hooper won't let him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

and Hooper counters with a nice body shot.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fulben throws a jab but it's blocked by Hooper.

Fulben closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hooper did well to prevent Fulben getting side control.

Fulben seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Benny Fulben dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Fulben looks to land a body kick but Hooper moved away.
Hooper throws a big counter combination but Fulben scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Fulben closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hooper counters with a two punch combo.
Hooper throws a lazy right hand but Fulben sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Fulben tries to counter with a clinch but Hooper shakes him off and moves away.
Fulben throws a looping overhand right but Hooper ducks down to avoid it.

Fulben fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hooper sprawls well initially but Fulben persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Fulben is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hooper sees it coming and defends easily.
Fulben is keen to just control but Hooper is a slippery customer.
Fulben looks to land a strike but Hooper avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Hooper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fulben gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hooper thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fulben trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hooper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hooper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fulben trying to control but Hooper is working from the bottom.
Fulben passes Hooper's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Fulben seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Hooper is refusing to be controlled, as Fulben sits in half guard.

Hooper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Fulben closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hooper did well to prevent Fulben getting side control.
Fulben thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hooper's head.

Fulben decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Fulben has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fulben moves into the clinch.
Fulben has had enough of the clinch but Hooper keeps him there for the moment.
Hooper is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Fulben breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fulben closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fulben is breathing heavily.
Fulben just content to control the position.
Hooper tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hooper really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fulben blocks the strikes from Hooper.
Benny Fulben has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hooper is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fulben's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hooper makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hooper.
Fulben wants to control from the top but Hooper keeps moving.

Benny Fulben showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Fulben is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Fulben is working for a kimura but Hooper is defending it quite comfortably.

Fulben working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Hooper's thigh. Hooper counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Fulben trying to control the position from guard on top but Hooper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fulben postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hooper is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fulben, into his guard.

Fulben takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hooper drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hooper jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fulben looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hooper puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Fulben keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Hooper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hooper landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Hooper is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
It looks like Hooper is going to stand back up.

Hooper is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fulben defends it well.
Fulben is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fulben lands a nice looking kick to the body. Hooper takes a step back to recover.
Fulben is looking to chop away at Hooper's legs.
Hooper thinks about countering with a head kick.
Fulben tries to clinch up.

Fulben shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Benny Fulben is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Hooper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fulben gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Benny Fulben.
I've got Fulben winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
