The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Wilkins closes the distance and clinches.
Lopez is trying to break the clinch but Wilkins has him pressed against the cage.
Wilkins tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lopez's elbow.

Lopez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Wilkins is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lopez to the mat. Lopez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Lopez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wilkins wants to control from the top but Lopez keeps moving.
Lopez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilkins passes Lopez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wilkins seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Lopez is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
