Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rabihia Nahas!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nahas darts in looking for a takedown but Gonzalez gets double underhooks and turns Nahas into the cage.
Gonzalez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nahas.
Nahas fails to land the takedown.
Julio Cesar Gonzalez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rabihia Nahas.
Nahas looks for a takedown but Gonzalez sprawls well.

Nahas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gonzalez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Gonzalez is looking to stall here but Nahas recovers full guard.
Nahas keeping moving, preventing Gonzalez from controlling successfully.
Gonzalez is looking to work some ground and pound but Nahas has wrist control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nahas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Nahas wants to stand but Gonzalez is controlling the position.
Gonzalez stands up over Nahas, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gonzalez throws an elbow that misses. Nahas uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gonzalez's guard. Nice move by Nahas!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nahas is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
Nahas trying to control but Gonzalez is working from the bottom.
Gonzalez wants to stand but Nahas is controlling the position.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nahas is defended easily by Gonzalez.
Nahas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gonzalez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gonzalez misses with a takedown attempt - Nahas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nahas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gonzalez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nahas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gonzalez avoids it really well and circles away.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gonzalez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
