Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Limbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rashad Evans is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Limbo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Limbo but Limbo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Limbo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Limbo throws a leg kick but Evans moved away.

Limbo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Evans, pushing him back against the cage.
Evans is trying to stall.
Evans has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Limbo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Limbo can't find room to land a body shot as Evans controls the action.
Limbo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Evans is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Limbo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jack Limbo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rashad Evans.

Evans pulls guard successfully.
Limbo prevents Evans from getting back to his feet.
Evans working a defensive guard here.
Limbo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Evans should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Evans uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Limbo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Evans!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Limbo lands a nice shot to the head.
Limbo avoids the attempt from Evans to control.
Limbo controlling the position easily from mount.
Limbo looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Limbo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Evans is surviving well by controlling Limbo's body position as best he can.
Limbo trying to control but Evans is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Limbo landing strikes from the mount.
Limbo scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Limbo avoids the attempt from Evans to control.
Evans is trying to escape the mount.
Limbo tries to control but Evans wriggling away.
Limbo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Evans wants to hold on but Limbo pushes him away.

Limbo goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Evans is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Evans not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Evans tries to stand but Limbo is controlling from the bottom.
Evans stands and throws Limbo's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Limbo parries the strikes from Evans easily there. Evans is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Limbo to escape.
Limbo stops Evans from passing to mount.
Limbo is trying to improve his position.
Limbo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Limbo tries to get out of the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Limbo wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Limbo is breathing heavily.
Evans postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Evans drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Evans tries to move into full mount but can't pass Limbo's legs.

Evans has hold of Limbo's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Limbo tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Evans cranks the arm and Limbo screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Limbo, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Rashad Evans!
