Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Ho had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Ho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Topper Green and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ho fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stevens, pushing him back against the cage.
Stevens displaying some good clinch control by pressing Ho up against the cage.
Ho looking to stall.

Ho pulls guard successfully.

Ho working for submissions but it's allowed Stevens to get to half guard.
Stevens is figuring out what he wants to do next.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ho is trying to control but can't.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stevens tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Ho.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ho missing with punches from the bottom.
Ho pushes Stevens off looking to stand but Stevens dives back in and keeps control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Stevens darts in and clinches Ho up against the cage.

Stevens jumps into guard, dragging Ho to the mat.
Ho throws a big elbow that misses.

Ho drops back looking for a leg! Stevens is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stevens manages to kick Ho off! Ho jumps back into Stevens's guard.

Stevens is looking for a triangle but Ho pushes his legs off easily.
Ho might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ho scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Stevens looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Stevens is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Stevens looking for a guillotine here but Ho defends easily.

Ho looking to sit in guard and control but Stevens gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Stevens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ho looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stevens content to stall in guard here.
Ho wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Stevens is now in half guard.
Stevens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ho pushes Stevens off looking to stand but Stevens dives back in and keeps control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ho looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle Stevens dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Stevens drives through and clinches with Ho against the cage.
Ho on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Stevens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ho walks away with a smile on his face. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stevens closes the distance and clinches.
Stevens lands a nice knee to the body.
Stevens lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Stevens breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stevens is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ho went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ho takes a swing at Stevens's ribcage but misses.
Ho circles away from the clinch attempt.

Stevens closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ho is looking to break free of the clinch but Stevens has double underhooks.
Stevens scores with a knee to the head.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Ho breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stevens leaves Ho with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stevens tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Stevens gets a clinch.

Ho successfully pulls guard.
Ho throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Stevens is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Stevens stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Stevens moves into the clinch successfully.

Ho tries to pull guard but Stevens won't allow it.

Ho lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Stevens has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Stevens is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ho pulls his head out easily.

Stevens looking for a kimura from the bottom but Ho passes into side control!

Ho decides to stand back up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stevens dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ho. That did some damage!
Ho shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Ho. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stevens gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Stevens lands a knee to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stevens tries to score a body lock takedown but Ho shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Stevens successfully pulls guard.

Stevens has his foot on Ho's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ho works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Stevens is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Stevens looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ho is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Stevens moves in looking to clinch but Ho pushes him off.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ho.
Stevens looks for a takedown but Ho sprawls well.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stevens enables Ho to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stevens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle Stevens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Ho's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Stevens tries to clinch up but Ho circles away and keeps his distance.
Ho fails with a takedown attempt.
Ho shoots in for a double leg but Stevens sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Stevens instigates a clinch.

Stevens drags the fight down to the ground.
Ho stopping the sweep attempt from Stevens.

Stevens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ho doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ho manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ho wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving.

Stevens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ho gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stevens is looking for a triangle but Ho pushes his legs off easily.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Stevens takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ho is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stevens sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Stevens clinches up with Ho and pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ho tries to pull guard but Stevens forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Kyle Stevens seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Stevens keeps control of Ho as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

A left hand lands to the body for Stevens.
Stevens can't find room to land a body shot as Ho controls the action.

Ho takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Stevens stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stevens wants it to stay on the feet.

Stevens keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ho's efforts to push away.

Stevens is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Stevens is working an open guard so Ho takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Ho moves into range and clinches up with Stevens.

Stevens looks to move to half guard but instead Ho has passed into mount! Damn!
Ho trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Stevens has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Ho is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stevens is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stevens is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kyle Stevens comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stevens has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
