Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bai Yu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luca Rinaldi!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yu throws a leg kick which misses Rinaldi's front leg but catches the back leg as Rinaldi tries to avoid it.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Rinaldi.
Yu is looking for a sweep.
Rinaldi throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Yu manages to get back to half guard.
Yu wants to improve his position but Rinaldi is controlling well.
Yu keeps control of the position for the meantime.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yu is controlling Rinaldi's trapped leg to prevent Rinaldi from advancing to side control.
Rinaldi wants to take a breather but Yu is having none of it.

Yu lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Rinaldi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Yu counter with a right hand.

and Yu counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Rinaldi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rinaldi can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bai Yu dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rinaldi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Yu counters with a series of strikes. Rinaldi will be more careful next time no doubt.
Yu connects with a leg kick. Rinaldi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Yu throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rinaldi misses with a takedown
and Yu counters with a two punch combo.

And Yu counters with a quick kick to the body but Rinaldi blocks it.
Bai Yu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luca Rinaldi.
Good leg kick by Yu there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Rinaldi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Yu can pounce on him.
Rinaldi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yu avoids it really well and circles away.

and Yu counters with a nice leg kick.

Yu tests Rinaldi's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Rinaldi ducks right into an uppercut from Yu.
Bai Yu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rinaldi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Yu.
Rinaldi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Yu counters with a good low kick that Rinaldi was not able to check.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

You can see that Rinaldi has visibly slowed down as a result of the leg kicks

Rinaldi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Yu counters with an outside leg kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Yu.
Rinaldi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rinaldi somewhat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Yu, right into the meat.
A lazy left from Yu finds it's target.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Yu.
Bai Yu is winning the standup battle so far.
Rinaldi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Yu regains half guard.
Rinaldi prevents Yu from improving his position.
Yu gets full guard.
Yu is pulling down on Rinaldi's head to control his posture.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Yu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rinaldi can do to turn this around?
Yu bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Rinaldi's head.
Yu clobbers Rinaldi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Rinaldi shoots in for a takedown but Yu shows good takedown defense.

letting Yu counter with a right hand.
An inside leg kick lands from Yu.
A solid body kick from Yu.
Nice uppercut lands for Yu. That snapped Rinaldi's head back.
Rinaldi is rocked!
Luca Rinaldi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rinaldi backs away from a small jab... but Yu lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Rinaldi crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Yu with a spectacular finish!
