Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris Part (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Tompaqo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Tompaqo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Part!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Tompaqo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Part shoots in and gets a takedown into Tompaqo's guard.
Tompaqo is looking to stand up but Part isn't so interested in that idea.
Tompaqo keeping full guard, as Part tries to pass.
Tompaqo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Part slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Part is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Tompaqo will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Part swings around for an armbar but Tompaqo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Part's guard.

Tompaqo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Part is controlling Tompaqo's posture.

Part looking for a guillotine here but Tompaqo defends easily.
Tompaqo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Part has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Tompaqo has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tompaqo tries to circle away but Part has him pinned against the cage.
Tompaqo is trying to pull guard but Part has him pressed against the cage.

Part has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tompaqo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Part is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Part is trying to stick to Tompaqo's back but Tompaqo is turning into Part. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Part's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Tompaqo.
Tompaqo won't allow Part to sweep him here.

Part throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Part working a defensive guard here.
Tompaqo is fighting to break Part's control of his arms but Part is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Tompaqo trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Part manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Part's corner is telling him to maintain position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Part dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Part shoots in looking for a takedown. Tompaqo tries to sprawl out of it but Part keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tompaqo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Part looking to score a takedown here. Tompaqo is defending well but Part drives through and ends up in Tompaqo's guard.
Chris Part overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Part gets to his feet. Tompaqo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Part needs to keep his hands up - Tompaqo had a free shot at his head there.

Part drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Part advances to full mount.
Tompaqo really wants to buck Part off and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tompaqo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Part will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Part lands a heavy elbow.
Part takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Part landing strikes, looking to finish!
Part scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Part is landing with some decent strikes but Tompaqo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Part landing strikes from the mount.
Part prevents Tompaqo from getting the reversal.
Tompaqo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Part. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Part sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
BOOM! Part connects with a massive shot to the dome!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tompaqo wants to control but Part is having none of it.

Part controlling from mount.
A nice elbow there by Part.
Part tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Part postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tompaqo looks a forlorn figure.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Part throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Tompaqo has his hands clasped together but Part breaks the hold and Tompaqo is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Part!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chris Part!
Ivan Tompaqo spoke after the fight, saying 'It was a good fight and my apponnet was on his game with this one and I was not. Time to go back and train a little harder for the next one.'.
