Taylor has chosen Penn state pump up song as his entrance music. Matt Preston has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Preston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Preston on his heels. He'll look to pass Preston's guard now, I'm sure.

Preston wants to stand and escape but Taylor is having none of it.
Taylor is standing up over Preston. Preston looks to escape but Taylor dives into side control.
Taylor trying to control the action but Preston is working from the bottom.

Taylor decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Preston really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Taylor changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taylor avoids the head kick by Preston.

Preston gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Taylor stands up from Preston's guard - Taylor perhaps looking for a knockout.

Taylor feints and as Preston raises his hands in defense, Taylor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Taylor distracts Preston with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Taylor stops Preston from standing up.

Preston escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taylor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Taylor's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Taylor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Preston swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Taylor controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
It looks like Taylor might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Taylor prevents Preston from getting back to his feet.
Taylor slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Preston striking off his back but it's not causing Taylor any problems.
Taylor stays in close to Preston's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Preston gets caught flat footed, as Taylor shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Preston is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Taylor's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Taylor wants to control from the top but Preston keeps moving.

Taylor passes Preston's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Preston is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Taylor scores with a couple of nice shots.
Preston tries to kick Taylor off but Taylor keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Taylor looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Taylor is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Taylor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Preston trying to get back to full guard but Taylor takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Taylor looking to isolate an arm here. Preston doesn't see it coming and as Taylor extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Taylor!
