Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bojan Vladislav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Avila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bojan Vladislav!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Avila!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avila throws a right and a left that Vladislav avoids nicely.
A jab from Avila misses.
Vladislav shoots in for a double leg but Avila sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Vladislav counters with a straight right hand.
Avila misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vladislav.
Avila looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Vladislav takes one to the chin there.
Vladislav walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vladislav tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Avila was well out of range. Poor timing from Vladislav.

Vladislav shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Avila is staying active underneath Vladislav, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Vladislav is looking to advance position but Avila won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vladislav passes to side control.
Vladislav wants to lay and pray for a moment but Avila keeps working.

Vladislav is trying to get an arm triangle but Avila is defending well.

Vladislav is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Avila knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Vladislav goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Avila has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Vladislav but great work by Avila.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Vladislav closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Avila did well to prevent Vladislav getting side control.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vladislav works his foot free and advances to mount.
Avila is squirming around, avoiding Vladislav's attempts to control the action.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vladislav takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Vladislav is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Avila has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Vladislav is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Avila can do to turn this around?

Vladislav is working for a guillotine from mount but Avila frees his head quite easily.

Vladislav tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Vladislav looking to control but Avila is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Vladislav is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Avila can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bojan Vladislav overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Vladislav wants to finish this one by submission but Avila is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vladislav.
Avila's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bojan Vladislav dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Avila throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Vladislav counters with a straight right hand.
Avila just misses with a punch to the body.
Avila cracks Vladislav with an open hand slap.
Avila ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vladislav moves away.
Vladislav attempts a counter takedown but Avila avoids it well and moves away.
Bojan Vladislav is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Avila misses with a straight left.

and Vladislav counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Avila takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Avila lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Vladislav throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vladislav takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Avila throws a lazy right hand but Vladislav sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Oscar Avila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vladislav bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Vladislav tries to advance to mount but can't.

Vladislav has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Avila!

Vladislav swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Avila is now in Vladislav's guard. A big mistake from Vladislav there, giving up the dominant position!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Vladislav is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Avila defends well.
Vladislav is trying to control the position but Avila postures up.

Vladislav is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Vladislav is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Vladislav has his foot on Avila's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Avila works his way back into a safe position though.
Bojan Vladislav is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Vladislav is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Vladislav seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Avila wants to get up but he can't break Vladislav's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vladislav looking to control but Avila passes into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Vladislav manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Vladislav lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vladislav, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
