The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whick misses with a hook. Werdum ducked under it nicely.
Werdum throws a body shot but no joy.
Werdum chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Whick can pounce on him.
Werdum fails to land with a series of punches.
Whick throwing a counter right hand but Werdum manages to avoid it.
Werdum throws a head kick that misses.
Werdum looks to land a right hand but Whick moved out of range.
Werdum fails to land the takedown.
Whick tried to counter with a leg kick but Werdum avoided it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whick throws a body shot but no joy.
Whick keeps the fight on the outside.
Whick and Werdum are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Whick throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Werdum into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Whick knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
