PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Montana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Ash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montana's entrance music is Push it to the Limit. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Montana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Adam Ash!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Ash is predictable there
and Montana counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ash will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Montana is looking for a counter combo.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ash looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Montana looks to land a left hand but Ash moved out of range nicely.

Ash gets a clinch.

Montana bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ash's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Montana is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ash defends it well.

Ash tries to get to full guard but Montana has control of the leg.
Ash has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Montana is working away from the top position though.

Montana wants to take a breather but Ash is having none of it.

Montana is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ash doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Montana.

Montana seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ash does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Tony Montana will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Montana has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ash doesn't defend quickly enough and Montana has managed to lock this one up! Can Ash escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Montana on a fantastic submission victory.
