Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Slayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shogan Aye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slayer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is MESHUGGAH - Bleed . Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slayer connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Aye chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Aye steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Slayer.
Aye lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Slayer at a distance.
Slayer wants to slow Aye down by chopping away at his legs.
Aye tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Aye drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Slayer defends it well.

Slayer shoots in for a takedown but Aye shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

I was talking to Slayer's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Slayer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Slayer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Aye manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Aye will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Slayer swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Slayer throws a low kick, looking for Aye's leg but Aye calmly moves out of range.

Slayer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Aye sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Aye ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Slayer throws a push kick but Aye slaps the foot to one side.
Slayer cracks the inside of Aye's front leg.
A slapping leg kick lands for Slayer.
Aye takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Nice uppercut lands for Slayer. That snapped Aye's head back.
No luck for Aye with that takedown attempt.
The crowd cheers as Aye lands an impressive looking overhand right. Slayer doesn't seem phased though.

Slayer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Aye on the side of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slayer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Slayer is breathing heavily.
Slayer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Slayer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Aye lands with a shot to the body.

Aye fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Slayer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Aye.

Aye misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Frank Slayer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shogan Aye.
Slayer throws a leg kick but Aye checks it.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Slayer shoots and misses
and Aye counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Shogan Aye will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Whack! Aye lands a heavy head kick that drops Slayer. The ref tackles Aye to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Slayer was done.
