The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Paiva. Those never looked like landing.
Santiago wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Santiago takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Paiva throws a right hand that Santiago ducks under and follows up with a left that Santiago also avoids with ease.
Santiago is looking to counter the offense by Paiva and move into the clinch.
Paiva's corner calls for a 1-2. Paiva obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Paiva. Santiago does a little dance to reset his feet.
Santiago shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Paiva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Santiago fails with an attempt to clinch.
Santiago really is a fat lump.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paiva bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Santiago's head.
Paiva throws a sloppy body shot
and Paiva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A head kick misses from Paiva.

Paiva is pawing at Santiago, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Santiago's nose. Santiago is badly hurt! Paiva pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Santiago tries desperately to hold on but Paiva is relentless in his assault! As Santiago receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Paiva away and this one is in the books!
