Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Demis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Demis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Going the distance. The key to victory for John Demis has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rose circles away quickly and effectively.

Rose shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Demis is trying to defend but Rose finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Demis trying to hold on to Rose's head to control him but Rose postures up.
Rose is figuring out what he wants to do next.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Demis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rose is working away from the top position though.

My spies in Ararigboya Brazilian Jiu Jitsu inform me that Rose has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Rose wants to free his trapped foot but Demis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Demis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rose on the ground.
Still in half guard, Rose seems content to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Demis throws a half hearted mid kick.

Demis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Demis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rose throws a strike but Demis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Demis wants to stand but Rose is controlling his posture from full guard.

Demis is looking to work some ground and pound but Rose has wrist control.
Rose has control of Demis's left arm, preventing Demis from doing any damage.
Rose wants to stand up but Demis is controlling him.
Rose looking to hit a scissor sweep but Demis is one step ahead there.
Demis wanted to stand there but Rose had control of the position.

Rose utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Rose misses with a hook
and Demis counters with a nice body shot.
Demis misses with a series of wild punches.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rose misses with a hook.
Rose throws a lazy uppercut
and Demis counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Rose throws the left hand but Demis avoids the punch easily.
Rose tries for a takedown but Demis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Rose decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Demis's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rose drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Demis dives on top into guard.

Rose manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Demis manages to get himself to full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Demis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Rose closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Demis's guard.
Rose seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rose lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Rose not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Demis is trying to control the position but Rose postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Demis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Rose is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Demis's shoulder. That is not cool.
Let's hope that Rose has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Demis tries to escape but Rose is in control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rose landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Demis wants to get back to his feet.
Rose is working Demis over with some ground and pound from side control.
Rose controls the position.

A big shot lands for Rose! That's hurt Demis! Will he recover? Rose fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Bruce Rose decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
John Demis was interviewed post fight and said 'I'm sorry I disappointed.I'm gonna go back home,train,and come back stronger.'.
