PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between El Chingon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasco Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chingon has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Vasco Rodrigues told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chingon takes a jab right on the kisser.

It looks like El Chingon has been cut.
Chingon looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rodrigues steps into range and cracks Chingon with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Chingon flops backwards and Rodrigues dives into his guard looking to finish!

Chingon is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Chingon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rodrigues works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Chingon seems to have got his legs back now.
Rodrigues throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodrigues is pressing down on Chingon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chingon is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rodrigues sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chingon defending well though.
Rodrigues is trying to control the action in half guard but Chingon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rodrigues working over Chingon with some ground and pound. Chingon looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rodrigues connects with a nice short shot to Chingon's temple.
Rodrigues passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Chingon!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at El Chingon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
