Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Michael Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Run (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vince Run has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Michael Dundee's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Dundee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vince Run!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dundee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Run, pushing him back against the cage.
Dundee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Run tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dundee smiles and moves away.
Dundee tries to clinch up.
Run wants to counter with a clinch but Dundee pushes him away.
Dundee lands a slapping body shot.
Run tries to clinch but Dundee is having none of it.
Run leaves Dundee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Run looks for a takedown but Dundee sprawls well.
Dundee fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Dundee shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Run keeping control of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dundee looks to land a strike but Run avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Run is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Run shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dundee sprawls well. Dundee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Run gets slowly back to his feet.
Dundee looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Michael Dundee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vince Run.
Dundee tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Run defends well and Dundee ends up having to push Run into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Dundee tries to sprawl but Run drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Dundee moves into full guard.
Run wants to control from the top but Dundee keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Run wants to pass the guard but Dundee is keeping the position.
Run would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Dundee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Run throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dundee wants to sweep but no luck.
Run wants to control from the top but Dundee keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dundee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Run scores with a nice body kick.
Dundee shoots for a takedown but Run saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Run is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

and Dundee counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dundee ducks under a wild hook from Run.
Run looks to score with a jab to the body but Dundee is just out of range.
Run fails with the takedown.

A combination from Run does no damage.
Dundee ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Dundee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Run to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Run seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Run missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dundee lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Michael Dundee will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dundee wants to clinch up but Run keeps it at a distance.
Dundee tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Run manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dundee is defended easily by Run.
Run goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dundee throws a big counter combination but Run scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Dundee fails to land the takedown.

Run closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dundee manages to break the clinch.
Dundee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Run swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Dundee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Run rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dundee counters with an outside leg kick.
Run looks for a takedown but Dundee sprawls well.

No joy there for Dundee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Run is looking for the big counter here.
Dundee avoids the head kick by Run.
Run tries to clinch but Dundee moves out of range.
Dundee keeps the fight on the outside.
Run has his takedown stuffed
and Dundee connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Dundee instigates a clinch.
Dundee scores with a knee to the head.
Run lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Run pulls guard effortlessly.
Dundee wants to get up but he can't break Run's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Run not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dundee in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Dundee postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Run is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dundee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Run managing to control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Run is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dundee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dundee dives in and grabs Run's left leg, looking for a takedown. Run pushes down on Dundee's head and hops out.

Dundee shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Run napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Run is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dundee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Run keeps working.

Dundee tries for a kimura but Run is defending well.
Run is looking to regain half guard here but Dundee keeps moving and retains side control.

Run manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Dundee is looking to escape.
Run trying to control the action but Dundee is working from the bottom.
Run throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Run trying to control the pace.
Run not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Run wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dundee keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Dundee will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Run is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dundee to keep the fight standing.

Run pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dundee is out of range and Run settles back down.

Run feints and as Dundee raises his hands in defense, Run changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dundee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Run defends well.

Run got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dundee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Run has managed to get both his arms back between Dundee's legs - danger averted.
Run controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Run throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dundee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dundee is working an open guard so Run takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Run is looking to clinch but Dundee is avoiding it.
Dundee displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Run throws out the jab.

Dundee throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Run was covering up waiting for the punch and Dundee finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Run looking for a guillotine here but Dundee defends easily.

Dundee works over Run with some ground and pound from guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Run tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dundee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A frustrated look appears on Run's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Run trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Run trying to control but Dundee is working from the bottom.
Run distracts Dundee with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Michael Dundee.
Well Dundee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
