PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hipolito Everett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashid Magomedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hipolito Everett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rashid Magomedov!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magomedov has managed to clinch.

Magomedov manages to break the clinch.
Magomedov tries for a takedown but Everett sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Magomedov gets a clinch.
Everett unloads a knee to the mid-section. Magomedov lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Magomedov has hold of one of Everett's legs. Everett is fighting the takedown attempt but Magomedov gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Magomedov wanted to stand there but Everett had control of the position.
Everett bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Magomedov's guard.

Magomedov uses the cage to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Magomedov misses with a wild combination.
Magomedov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Everett counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Everett.

Magomedov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Everett after a bit of a struggle.
Hipolito Everett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rashid Magomedov.
Everett tries to pull guard but Magomedov holds him up against the cage and eventually Everett drops back down to his feet.
Magomedov keeps control of Everett as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Magomedov is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Everett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Magomedov on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Everett drops down looking for an ankle pick but Magomedov pulls his leg out and moves away.
Magomedov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
As Magomedov looks to move away, Everett throws a big counter combo bu Magomedov just gets out of the way.
Magomedov looks winded!

Everett decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Magomedov, up you get!
Everett shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Magomedov as he jumps to the side.

Magomedov closes the distance and clinches.
Magomedov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Everett walks away with a smile on his face. Magomedov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Magomedov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Everett defends it nicely.
Everett is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Magomedov.
Everett looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Magomedov forces Everett back against the cage and clinches.

Everett pulls guard.
Everett pulls Magomedov in to control the position.

Magomedov stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Magomedov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Everett, pushing him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Everett pulls guard effortlessly.
Everett controlling Magomedov's posture.
Everett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Everett utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Everett pulls Magomedov in to control the position.
Magomedov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Everett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Magomedov wants to stand and escape but instead Everett has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Everett decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Magomedov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Everett counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hipolito Everett will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We've been informed that Magomedov has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Everett is trying to break the clinch but Magomedov has him pressed against the cage.
Magomedov is looking for a takedown.
Everett doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Everett prevents the takedown attempt.
Magomedov wants to get back to striking at distance but Everett won't allow it.
Magomedov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Everett prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Everett gets underhooks to prevent Magomedov's takedown attempt.

Everett ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Everett no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Magomedov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Everett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Everett pulls Magomedov in close to prevent any damage.

Everett looking for a triangle here. Magomedov is fighting it but it looks tight! Everett pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Magomedov is tapping out - this one is all over!
