The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones with a poor takedown
and Ripping counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Ripping listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Ripping lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jones at a distance.
Jones takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jones takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ripping throws a combination. Jones tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Jones tries for a takedown but Ripping circles away easily
and Ripping counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jones thinking.
Ripping getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
