PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doyle Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Doll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hawk might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to American Encore. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk tries to clinch there but Doll circles away.

Doll fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Doll moves into the clinch.
Hawk looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Doll breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hawk doesn't manage to clinch there - Doll circles away.

Doll can't keep his opponent in guard - Hawk advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Doll pushes Hawk off and gets back to his feet.

Hawk closes the distance and clinches.
Hawk tries to break free but Doll pushes him back against the cage.
Hawk throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Doll blocks it with crossed arms.
Hawk is trying to pull guard but Doll turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Hawk jumps guard but Doll turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Doll has hold of one of Hawk's legs. Hawk is fighting the takedown attempt but Doll gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Doll wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving.

Hawk is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Doll is aware though and is defending well.

Hawk is looking for a triangle but Doll pushes his legs off easily.

Hawk has his foot on Doll's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Doll works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hawk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Doll gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hawk is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hawk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Doll doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Doll manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hawk is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hawk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Doll defends it easily.

Doll really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hawk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hawk throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Doll escapes and throws Hawk's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Doll gets to mount! Hawk was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Hawk can't escape the position.

Hawk is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Doll is tapping! Great win for Hawk!

A less than humble Doyle Hawk misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
