Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gerald Batalon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sean Doyle!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doyle shoots in but no luck this time.
It looked like Batalon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Batalon tries to bum rush Doyle with a series of wild strikes but Doyle uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Batalon throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Batalon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Doyle.
Sean Doyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Batalon throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Doyle counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Doyle.
Doyle working some strikes from top position.
Doyle preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doyle passes into half guard.

Doyle decides to return to a standing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Doyle swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Batalon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Doyle tries a head kick but it misses.
Batalon fails to land with a series of punches.
Doyle closes the distance but Batalon moves to the side
and Batalon counters with a one-two to the body.
Doyle is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Doyle lands a head shot.
Doyle swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Doyle drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Batalon tries to improve position but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Batalon is working hard here to advance position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doyle has hold of Batalon's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Batalon seems comfortable defending it but Doyle has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Batalon is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Batalon is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Doyle couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sean Doyle!
