The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes connects with a right hand. Hanma shakes it off.

Barnes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hanma looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Barnes has hold of Hanma's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hanma tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Barnes cranks the arm and Hanma screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hanma, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Vic Barnes!
Yujiro Hanma spoke after the fight, saying 'My opponent got lucky. I don't know how he did it, but he won by fluke. He is obviously way below me, and would be killed in a rematch.'.
