PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Igor Voganoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chong Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voganoff comes into the arena with Nine Inch Nails Every Day is Exactly the Same blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Voganoff as Harper shoots in.
Harper shoots for a takedown but Voganoff saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Voganoff circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Harper counters with a single leg into guard. Voganoff didn't expect that.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Voganoff is on top in guard.
Voganoff slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Harper tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Harper is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Harper manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Harper is thwarting Voganoff's attempts to control the position.

Harper seems to be working for a kimura but Voganoff defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Voganoff wants to control but Harper is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Harper thows a huge punch but Voganoff dodges it nicely.
Harper wants to pass the guard but Voganoff is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A head kick misses from Voganoff.

Harper feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Harper wants to pass the guard but Voganoff is keeping the position.
Harper won't allow Voganoff to sweep him here.
Harper slips nicely into half guard.

Harper looking for a submission but Voganoff manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Harper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Voganoff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Harper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Harper looks gassed!
Voganoff is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Voganoff prevents Harper from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chong Harper dominated that round.
That's time! Voganoff's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Harper tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Voganoff is putting a hurting on Harper here, landing some big shots from side control.
Harper regains half guard.
Voganoff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harper keeps working.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Harper makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harper.

Harper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harper will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Voganoff is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Harper has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Voganoff is looking to defend but Harper has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Voganoff! Harper pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Voganoff taps out and this one is all over!
